Profile
Carlos Caamaño Espacio Fotográfico was created in 2010 with the intention of giving relevance to photography in the context of contemporary art, proposing a counterpoint between document and form. Conceptually, the project is oriented towards the representation of collective identities, mainly Latin American or from the Global South, with a particular interest in Peru.
Recently, in response to current artistic practices that are diluting categories, Carlos Caamaño has broadened his field of action and, although he continues to give photography a privileged place, he is now committed to disseminating projects developed using other media, provided that they enter into a dialogue with the themes that arouse its interest, and produced through a mechanical or digital process.
Carlos Caamaño Espacio Fotográfico is organised around a collaborative model, in which interaction with photographers, artists, cultural institutions, curators, specialised fairs, publishers and the private sector, among others, makes it possible to exhibit, disseminate and commercialise projects.
